Last night was an absolute THRILL to attend the Stealth Black Belt Academy's Fight Night Finale!
As i'm now a full time campaigner I've passed the baton of running the academies to my incredible team. So it was a real honour to step back on the mats to be the guest referee for the evening.
Our incredible students showcased their skills and determination in an epic showdown at the Annual Sport Karate Championships.
Coalville and Hathern Academies brought their A-game, with the top contenders in each weight class battling it out for the coveted club titles.
Coach Craig Smith, the founder turned politician, shared, "Martial arts is more than just physical skills; it builds character, discipline, and resilience, shaping success both on and off the mat." Wise words!
Head Coach Kieran Smith of The Coalville Academy is all about fostering an environment that goes beyond martial excellence, instilling values that extend outside the dojo. The championships featured over 40 epic fights, drawing in a crowd of 250+ family and friends who cheered on the competitors and soaked in the spirit of martial arts competition.
Nikki Hughes, Head Coach of the Hathern Academy, emphasized, "We strive to nurture not just skilled athletes but individuals who embody the true spirit of martial arts in every aspect of their lives."
And now, drumroll, please! Out of the 6 title belts contested, 5 were retained by last year's winners, setting the bar high for next year's championships! Huge congrats to the champions:
Under 8s: Louis Stone (Hathern)
Under 11s: Jake Kerr (Hathern)
Under 14s: Lucy Tebbett (Coalville)
Ladies: Bobbie Plant (Hathern)
Men's Lightweight: Billy Tebbett (Coalville)
Men's Heavyweight: Chris Cooper (Coalville)
An unforgettable night of skill, spirit, and sportsmanship! Until next year, Stealth Black Belt Academy out!
