Today I was joined by Leicestershire and Rutland Police and Crime Commissioner Rupert Matthews.
After meeting with him at conference last month I invited him to the Coalville North Division to see first hand the speeding traffic issues residents are facing on a daily basis.
Our meeting was a walking one and I was able to take him on site to Ashburton Road Hugglescote, one of the many hotspots within the Division.
He went on to explain the Police HQ are in the process of recruiting a new member of staff who's sole responsibility it will be to support the Neighbourhood Watch and in particular the community speed watch organisations, which will really have a positive effect on our towns and villages.
Speeding is an ongoing issue for residents, but rest assured I will continue to push for further measures to be put in place.
