Today I was visited by the Leicestershire and Rutland Police and Crime Commissioner, Rupert Matthews. We discussed new Government legislation which makes it easier for the authorities to move illegal traveller encampments.
As someone who has campaigned tirelessly for our community, I understand the need for new homes. Young families need affordable places to live, and our local economy benefits from well-planned development. But let me be clear: I am no NIMBY.
