I’ve written before about my passion for improving educational opportunities. It's great that a consortium of FE colleges in the county, including the SMB College Group, have secured a further £3m from this Conservative Government to deliver new programmes. It’s so important that we close the skills gap and increase employability by matching local education delivery with local employer needs. The innovative approach taken to identify needs developed by the East Midlands Chamber, and the funding from the Department of Education, will help local providers close the skills gap.
